CEO & Founder

Email

Rod Buckingham is the founder and CEO of Buckingham Security Services Ltd., a company that evolved from a long and distinguished career in law enforcement. “I’ve been protecting people my entire life,” he says. Indeed, he has. In all, Mr. Buckingham spent 36 years in law enforcement for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Regina Police Service. In his tenure with RPS, he served in several distinguished capacities, including Criminal Investigation Division Inspector, a role in which he was responsible for the operations of the Police Service’s 100 detectives. Prior to that, he was a Major Crimes Investigator for RPS. In that post, he solved every case that was assigned to him, including several challenging homicide investigations. Today, in addition to his role with Buckingham, he serves as the Senior Security Consultant for the Canadian Football League. It’s a role that complements the work he does with his own company, which is considered to be one of the premier business investigations and security firms in Canada. For his team, Mr. Buckingham has assembled more than 90 of the best investigators in the profession, men and women are known for their proficiency to conduct investigations, including former law enforcement personnel who have extensive experience in all types of in-depth investigations in both the public and private sector, with extensive experience in undercover work, background investigation and pre-employment screening. “Our team is made up of experts who glean the entire story from victims of abuse,” he says, “gathering and preserving evidence, and then thoroughly documenting all pertinent facts. They are selected for their protective instincts, their expertise, professionalism and empathy for victims. And they’re never intimidated by those wishing to divert them from their primary mission.”

Rod Knecht

Chief Operating Officer

Email

Like so many of Canada’s most distinguished law enforcement officers, Rod Knecht has covered a lot of ground in his 42 years of policing. He spent 21 years doing operational police work in the rural, municipal and Indigenous sectors. He also worked with Major Crimes, the Drug Section, Customs and Excise, the Federal Section, and Proceeds of Crime and Undercover Duties. Most recently, he served as Edmonton’s Chief of Police. He was in that role for more than seven years. Prior to that, he was the Senior Deputy Commissioner for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, for which, as the most senior uniformed member, he managed an annual budget of $4.7 billion and a team of 31,000 employees in Canada and around the world. Never one to sit still, Mr. Knecht now manages a team of more than 90 investigators for Buckingham. It’s a role he embraces for its higher purpose. “The opportunity to seek justice and safeguard the fundamental human rights for those who are most disadvantaged, vulnerable and least able to defend themselves, is one of the greatest rewards for an individual and a society.”

Beth Reynolds

Chief Marketing Officer

Email

Beth Reynolds is the Chief Marketing Officer for Buckingham Inc. In that role, she leads all communications, marketing and business development initiatives. Previously, she played a similar role in the media industry. Among other accomplishments, she developed a syndication sales model for NASCAR that generated millions of dollars in nontraditional revenue through NASCAR’s first-ever weekly national television show. To make that happen, Beth worked with major television syndication companies (MGM, Sony and Disney/ABC) in sales, sponsorship development, inventory management and affiliate relations. In addition, as a managing partner of MagicDust Television, she was critical to the success of RightThisMinute, a national television show aired for 11 seasons in the United States.
Before MagicDust, Beth was a marketing and business development specialist for Media America Corporation and Belo Media, companies that included broadcast television, cable TV, digital, radio, newspaper, and major consumer events throughout Southwestern USA. Although she’s proud of her success in media, Beth believes her most important work is the work she’s doing with Buckingham. “I’m proud to be part of a growing company dedicated to developing safe work environments for businesses across Canada,” she says.
On a personal level, Beth has a passion for exploration and discovery — she loves hiking in her home state of Arizona with her husband and two daughters. Professionally, that same passion helps feed the development of marketing and sales models and the discovery of new revenue streams.

Allen Farrah

Like many people, Allen Farrah likes to disconnect from technology as often as possible. For him, that usually means heading into the wilderness with a fishing pole. It’s a well deserved respite for a man who spent his career as a public servant. At first, his motivation to get into law enforcement was to be challenged, which might be expected from someone with a master’s degree in public administration. But then that changed. “Over time,” he says, “my motivation evolved into carrying out serious investigations and complex operations to disrupt criminal organizations. I realized that working with other skilled investigators — from within the organization and other policing partners — made my experiences even more worthwhile.” Those experiences include almost 30 years as a sworn officer of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, where he investigated many types of criminal offenses under the Criminal Code of Canada. “I investigated hundreds of complex cases involving organized crime and money laundering offenses,” he says. Later, he would rise to the supervisory ranks of the RCMP. Today, Mr. Farrah is an Investigator for the New Brunswick Police Commission and a Senior Investigator for Buckingham.

William Dombowsky applies analytical thinking, a methodical approach and attention to detail to any complex work he does – whether that’s an investigation, security work or constructing new homes. “I think outside the box, challenge myself to take on difficult tasks, lead by example and encourage others to do all the above,” Dombowsky says. A valued member of the Buckingham Leadership Team, Bill brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role as Investigator and Security Guard Supervisor. During his 27 years in policing, Bill was involved in the Investigation Unit with extensive training in criminal investigations, major crime scene investigations, search warrants, search and seizure, exhibits and surveillance. He later taught courses in surveillance, undercover and criminal investigation techniques. He was also a member of the crowd control team and spent 11 years in a supervisory role for various units and sections of the Regina Police Service. Bill enjoys his lake life where he pursues his passion for boating, fishing and all things water related. He loves to surround himself with family and friends and spends any extra time he can attending his four grandchildren’s sports activities.

Dale Sheehan

Executive Director of
Global Affairs

Email

Dale Sheehan knows a thing or two about law enforcement. He wrote the book. Literally. It’s titled Behind the Badge: The History of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, “Depot” Division, and it was a national bestseller. But writing books isn’t what drives him. Helping people is his priority. “I’ve always wanted to be in a position to help those that cannot always help themselves,” he says. And he’s been doing that around the globe for 32 years. In 2008, he became a director for INTERPOL in France. Later, he was a director for that agency in Singapore. Closer to home, Mr. Sheehan served as the Assistant Commissioner for the RCMP’s police training and development program. Today, he works with the United Nations and the Canadian Football League. He’s also a Senior Investigator for Buckingham. “After my career in law enforcement, I had the luxury of choosing my boss and doing work that I enjoy,” he says. “Buckingham is the perfect fit — it’s a team with a belief system and a global outlook that’s similar to mine.”

Darrell Gaudet

Senior Investigator &
File Manager

Email

Wearing a badge was predestined for Darrell Gaudet. “I come from a law enforcement family, so it’s in my DNA,” he says. Although DNA can offer a good head start, it’s not enough on its own. Law enforcement requires a broad set of specialized skills, and Mr. Gaudet measures up. “I’ve always had an analytical mind and a desire to solve problems,” he says. “I’m objective, thorough and focused when conducting investigations. I can read people and ‘listen’ to what they’re saying verbally and non-verbally.” The combination of DNA and inherent skills led to a distinguished 32-year career that includes commissions as Detective Sergeant for the Halifax Regional Police Service and Staff Sergeant for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. In addition, he’s an expert in travel security and has extensive experience in national and international police investigations, including human trafficking, drugs and money laundering. Today, Mr. Gaudet is a Senior Investigator for Buckingham. “Being from Nova Scotia,” he says, “I offer Buckingham not only my investigative skill set, but also my knowledge of the Atlantic Region and its people.”

David Rudderham

Executive in Charge of Workplace/Harassment Investigations, Mediation & Training

Email

David Rudderham has been around the world. But not as a jet setter. His time overseas was spent in the public service sector, working on humanitarian projects for the United Nations and the European Union in South Sudan, Afghanistan and Bosnia — his time in Bosnia earned him a UN medal for service. But he wasn’t there for accolades. “The most rewarding part of my overseas missions,” he says, “was bringing human rights and the rule of law to those who have been deprived of both. I was able to help vulnerable people get justice. The impact to them and me was life changing.” When he wasn’t overseas, Mr. Rudderham was serving Canada as a sworn officer in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. In all, he has more than 40 years of experience in criminal investigations, prosecutions and court-related matters, including 21 years at the management and senior management level. In addition, he has project planning and implementation experience, and a thorough knowledge of criminal procedures and criminal justice systems. Today, Mr. Rudderham is the Co-Executive in Charge of Workplace Harassment Investigations, Mediation and Training for Buckingham.

Ken Lyons

Senior Investigator &
File Manager

Teachers, nurses, police officers…when considering roles models, the men and women in those professions are hard to beat. Ken Lyons would agree. “Law enforcement is a respected profession,” he says, “with numerous challenges and opportunities for growth. As a kid, I was influenced by the officers in my community — they were my role models.” Now, after 31 years as a sworn officer for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) the tables have turned and Ken plays the role of the role model. His distinguished career began as a constable in several Saskatchewan communities. Later, he rose through the ranks to staff sergeant, and in 2005 he was named the non-commissioned officer in charge of the RCMP’s Major Crime Unit based in Regina, where his primary responsibility was the investigation of homicide and suspicious sudden deaths. In that role, he also oversaw several politically sensitive investigations, including criminal allegations against peace officers and other public leaders. Following retirement from the RCMP, Ken spent ten years in the insurance industry, first as an investigator and then as manager of the Special Investigation Unit for Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI). He also worked as an investigation observer for the Saskatchewan Ministry of Justice. Today, Ken is a senior investigator and file manager for Buckingham.

Murray Roe

Senior Investigator &
Security Specialist

Email

Murray Roe was inspired by a tragedy. “When I was 11,” he says, “our neighbor was killed in a farm accident. I was sent out to the grid road to wait for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. When they arrived, I directed them to the accident. I was so impressed by the Mounties, it prompted me to become a police officer.” In his distinguished career, Mr. Roe spent nearly 30 years with the Regina Police Service. During that time, he was the Officer in Charge for the Criminal Investigation Division, the Community Services Division and the Human Resources Section. He also served as the Senior Security Administrator for the Grey Cup Security Command. Today, Mr. Roe is a key consultant for the government of Saskatchewan, for which he advises the Police Commission and the Health Authority. He also serves as a Provincial Oversight Investigator. In addition, he’s the Senior Investigative File Manager for Buckingham. “As someone who was in charge of a division of detectives,” he says, “I learned to understand the needs and wants of investigators, and how to work with them to get the best results for both the investigation and the investigator.”
